Overview

Mindfulness is an innate human quality! It is a way of learning to pay wise attention to whatever is happening in your life; and to allow a greater sense of connection to your outer and inner world. Meditation is a formal contemplation practice, in which we bring our attention to an object of focus – sounds, a mantra, a visualisation, our bodies, held in a certain posture. Meditation is found in many different forms across traditions. So, mindfulness meditation is a combination of the two. It is a practice (in formal and informal settings) that helps us to cultivate clarity, insight and understanding. In terms of your wellbeing, mindfulness is a way for you to experientially learn to take better care of yourself, by exploring and understanding the interplay of mind and body and utilising your own inner resources for coping and growing.

Many employees are now finding themselves working from home for this first time and are feeling overwhelmed, stressed and anxious about the new challenges facing them. This course has been developed to encompass all the techniques of mindfulness in the workplace, for you to do at home.

Part 1 (1 hour + Q&A)
  • Meet your trainer and basic course overview
  • Mindfulness v meditation – what are the differences & benefits of each, and when should I use each one? What are they, why are they used, how are they done? How many hours should I do if staying home?
  • Organisational benefits of Mindfulness – understanding mindfulness and its use when working from home, and how will it help increase motivation?
  • How do we practice mindfulness at home? – noticing warning signings of stress, taking the appropriate time out and creating the right spaces to practice
  • Guided mediation – noticing the senses and becoming present. Unique meditation exercises for you to do any time, anywhere.
Part 2 (1 hour + Q&A)
  • Mindful Eating – What is it and what are the benefits to productivity
  • Hungry vs non-hungry eating – how to differentiate and make the right decisions
  • How to deal with boredom – steps you can take when monotony starts effecting your diet
  • The mindful eating exercise – practical exercises you can do from home!
  • Minimising mealtime distractions – we show you how best practices at mealtimes can make you even more productive
  • Establishing new habits – by completing this course you’ll have the tools to change the way you eat at home!
  • (Participants will need to bring either a sultana or blueberry to the webinar)
